SkySeeker LR4 — Foldable Mini Long Range Drone
A foldable 4″ long-range frame made from T300 3K carbon fiber. The complete ready-to-fly drone, without its battery, folds down to approximately 140 × 103 × 50 mm — perfect for taking FPV on a trip without a bulky gear bag.

I designed it for family trips: small, packable and without unnecessary compromises in electronics or camera systems.

// 01 · WHY I BUILT IT
Long range without taking up half your backpack
When we go on family trips, the car is already full of kids, a stroller, food and everything else. There is rarely room for a full FPV setup. I wanted a small 4″ long-range drone I could take into the mountains or outdoors just in case — and fold into a small box after the flight.
The foldable DarwinFPV FoldApe4 inspired the concept, but I wanted a different camera mount, top plate, arm design and compatibility with standard four-hole motors. So I redesigned SkySeeker around common FPV components and a more versatile build.

What's in the model
- Top plate — 2 mm T300 3K, chamfered edges
- Bottom plate — 2 mm T300 3K, chamfered edges
- 4 folding arms — 5 × 7 mm, without chamfers
- Aluminum camera cage — fixed assembly with adjustable camera angle
- Arm locking plates — small three-hole plates for front/rear arms
- TPU — GPS and antennas, receiver and buzzer; camera inserts depend on the camera model
- Standoffs — main frame plus a pair securing the camera cage
The model uses the actual frame geometry. TPU camera inserts are intentionally omitted because their shape depends on your camera and lens variant.

A foldable design built around standard FPV components

Four mounting holes instead of proprietary three-hole motors. Supports standard 15xx/16xx motors.

The arms are 5 mm thick and 7 mm wide, compared with 4 mm arms on the original inspiration.

What fits inside SkySeeker
AIO flight controller
25,5 × 25,5 mm · M2
Only 25.5 × 25.5 mm AIO boards fit. A conventional 20×20 stack will not fit. The USB port must face sideways; there is no clearance beneath the board.
Video system
Designed for DJI O4 Pro
Designed around DJI O4 Pro, but the camera cage and VTX area can accommodate other digital or analog systems if their dimensions fit.
Powertrain
3S / 4S
Two recommended setups: a lighter 3S build and a lower-KV 4S long-range build. We do not recommend a 2S setup here.
Battery
max. 75 × 45 mm
The top plate supports a standard battery strap. Choose capacity according to the motors, target weight and desired flight time.

Order
Update — 6 October 2026: the bottom plate is now 3.5 mm rather than 3 mm, and the top plate uses a finer 1.5K weave rather than 3K. These frame changes and regularly paid customs duties on imports from China have brought the price from CZK 850 to CZK 990.
